On Thursday night, March 7th, Hoover High School hosted “HSC Night” at their home field for a set of matches against Thompson High School. All of our HSC competitive teams, along with other players representing our U4-U8 Future Phantoms and U9-U19 Recreational Program, were in attendance to cheer on the large representation of Hoover Soccer Club players participating on Hoover High School soccer teams. Both the Freshmen and Varsity teams came away with a win while the Junior Varsity team played to a draw.
Hoover Soccer Club Director of Coaching, Paul Welch, also to recognized four HHS seniors for their longtime commitment to soccer in Hoover. All four boys (Roderick Bartenge, Elijah Kim, Matthew Kincaid, and Sam Whitlock) began playing soccer for HSC when they were just 3-5 years old before transitioning to Hoover Bucs when they reached high school.
HSC players also had the chance to participate in some fun soccer games during half-time and between games. In addition, the Hoover High School girls soccer players were in attendance to put on a mini-clinic and have some fun games with all the girls from HSC. All around, it was a great night of soccer and community fellowship for players of all ages!
Hoover Soccer Club would like to thank everyone involved for their great work and execution of such a great event.
